About Dr Yasir Khan
Dr Yasir Khan is the founder and CEO of ‘YK Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine and Rehab Center’.
After graduating from King Edward Medical University in Lahore, he went on to study at the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. In addition to this, he has gained valuable training and education from the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia and Spain. He is a highly qualified Orthopaedic, Trauma and Sports Surgeon with over 20 years of experience in the field.
Dr Yasir Khan has worked as a Consultant Orthopaedic, Trauma and Sports Surgeon in Ireland, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. He has keen interest in complex trauma cases and is regarded by his peers as a ‘troubleshooter’, i.e. someone who can bail them out in difficult situations by performing complex surgeries.
Dr. Yasir Khan is one of the few sports surgeons in Pakistan with Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (MSK) training to diagnose and manage his patients appropriately. He is highly skilled in advanced arthroscopic (key hole) and arthroplasty (joint replacement) procedures for the shoulders and knees.
In addition to his surgical skills, he has published many articles in peer reviewed journals and is also serving on the editorial board of the Journal of Pakistan Orthopaedic Association (JPOA). Alongside this, he has been invited as a faculty member and trainer for numerous training courses both within Pakistan and abroad.
Dr Yasir Khan is a member of British Association of Sports and Exercise Medicine (BAsem), European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA), Société Internationale de Chirurgie Orthopédique et de Traumatologie (SICOT) and Pakistan Orthopaedic Association (POA).
Dr Yasir Khan has always been held in high regard by his colleagues and staff members. He has often been described as a highly compassionate doctor who gives priority to each patients’ individual needs and comfort, whilst working to ensure that they get the best possible care.
